We hope you enjoy our 2007 Christmas display. We have over 65,000 lights and 96 channels of computerized control. This year we have added our neighbor’s house to the display. They have an additional 32 channels and 15,000 lights. We will begin the light shows on Thanksgiving evening and run till after the first of the year.
Our display started as a static display. Then in 2006 we decided to try and animate our display. After doing much research I came across a website named planet Christmas. That was a big mistake! I was able to see what other people were doing and the gears in my head began to turn. I now start the planning for the up coming years display some time around March. The lights are plugged into controllers that are connected to my computer. I then use a software program, Light O Rama, to set up what music I want and what I want the lights to do. For each minute of song it takes me approximately 4 hours to create a sequence. If you are interested in doing your own display checks out www.lightorama.com for both hardware and software. You should also check out www.planetchristmas.com for tons of information regarding displays.
